Little Sioux's 10 Commandments

Little Sioux wants you to care for people, the environment and the planet. She recalls her grandfather telling her these 10 rules for living, which he called the 10 commandments. While the language may have changed since her grandfather was a boy, these basic rules still hold true today…

1. Treat the Earth and all that dwell thereon with respect
   
2. The Earth is our mother, care for her
   
3. Work together for the benefit of all mankind
   
4. Take from the Earth what is needed and nothing more
   
5. Speak the truth, but only for the good of all
   
6. All life is sacred; treat all beings with respect
   
7. Look after the well being of mind and body
   
8. Take full responsibilities for your actions
   
9. Remain close to the great spirit
   
10. Enjoy life’s journey, but leave no tracks
